To carry out research and development in the manufacture of low cost computational devices, minicomputers, computer and internet related applications for the rural, semi-rural and lower income bracket persons with the intention of encouraging more widespread use of these technologies among the poorer sections of the country and to manufacture prototypes, simulations and mock-ups of such devices and applications.

• To carry out research and development activities in order to develop technologies that may be utilised to provide access to computer technologies using local languages.
• To acquire and hold in its own name, intellectual property in low cost computational products, minicomputers, software applications and all other related intellectual property rights in respect of the development of technologies for the purpose of furtherance of the objects of the Trust and to take all steps to register, protect and enforce these intellectual property rights including the institution of legal proceedings in respect of any actions against infringements thereof.
• To license the right to manufacture, market and sell products based on the intellectual property developed or owned by the Trust to any persons who meets the minimum technical specifications prescribed by the Trustees in this regard as well as to impose conditions on the use of such technologies by the licensees.
• To create update and maintain standards in respect of and relating to any and all technologies developed by or for the Trust, including the manufacture of low cost computational devices, minicomputers, computer and internet related applications for the rural, semi-rural and lower income bracket persons as well as the development of technologies in respect of providing computer access in local languages.
• To apply to various authorities to seek their funding of the research and development activities and to utilise any funds so obtained towards the pursuance of the objects of the Trust.
• To make donations, to contribute or collaborate and affiliate with any other non-profit organisations engaged in carrying out the aforementioned objects and to do all other incidental acts, deeds and things as are related to, similar to or supportive of the objects of the Trust.
